Infleqtion reports 30 entangled logical qubits on its neutral-atom processor

The company connected 30 encoded qubits in a test circuit. Earlier research reached 48; useful computation and real-time correction remain unproven.

Today’s top signal

Infleqtion — connecting 30 protected qubits in a test circuit, not yet a useful computation.
In plain English
Infleqtion used 80 atoms to make 30 grouped quantum bits and connected all 30 in a test calculation. Roughly one quarter of its recorded outputs landed in the set the ideal circuit permits, compared with about one in 4,096 for entirely random outputs. That shows a signal, not a useful answer for a customer.

Why this matters: connecting many grouped bits on the company's own processor is a step toward more capable machines. It extends Infleqtion's earlier twelve-logical-qubit work.

The boundary: Harvard-led researchers already connected 48 logical qubits with the same type of eight-atom grouping in work published in 2023. Infleqtion's experiment detects errors and can repair a lost atom's final measured value in software; it does not repeatedly repair arbitrary errors while the calculation runs. Its result has no independent reproduction, published full paper, useful workload, demonstrated speed advantage or customer economics.

Commercial Readiness Outlook — Industry

Early
Estimated broad enterprise window: 2030–2033
Today: What changed: Infleqtion reports a 30-logical-qubit entangled demonstration on its own hardware, up from its 2025 twelve-qubit work. What did not change: prior neutral-atom teams already reached 48 entangled logical qubits using the same downstream code, while repeated real-time correction, useful computation and economic advantage remain unproven. The commercial-readiness window is unchanged.
