Quobly says it has demonstrated qubit readout, single-qubit gates and two-qubit gates on one silicon chip made in STMicroelectronics’ commercial 300 mm manufacturing line in Crolles, France. Gates are the operations that change quantum information and connect qubits.

Why this matters: a promising laboratory device is not automatically a manufacturable product. Moving these functions onto the same chip in an established industrial process could make it easier to reproduce designs and integrate conventional control electronics.

But Quobly has not released the gate-accuracy measurements, device counts or production-yield evidence needed to judge that promise. It says detailed performance metrics will follow in a scientific publication. No independently reproduced result, complete processor benchmark, logical qubit, useful customer workload or economic advantage was demonstrated.

This is not the first silicon chip to perform quantum operations. Quobly-linked researchers reported a foundry-fabricated unit cell in 2025, and an independent imec/Diraq team published measured gate performance in July 2026. Today’s narrower change is the reported transfer to ST’s commercial process.

Quantum Litmus treats this as manufacturing-oriented hardware progress. The next decisive evidence is a reproducible account of gate accuracy, device consistency, control overhead and complete-system performance—not a forecast of future qubit counts.
